What an extreme way of expressing opinion Malachi Ritscher burned himself to death to deliver to tell his government If I am required to pay for your barbaric war, I choose not to live in your world. but how the hell he's making any change now ? and he even left a suicide note! hell ya! Has anyone told him about the 72 virgin so he ran after them ? [tags] exreme, anti-war, protect, burn, suicide [/tags]

Vive la France!

Foreignpolicy The French have long been resistant to the idea of American cultural imperalism. Now, they are resisting American technological imperialism as well. Not only has France worked on a homegrown search engine to counter Google's ubiquity, the government is also casting off the cloak of Microsoft. The French parliament is following the example of its gendarmes and its Ministry of Culture and Communication by ditching Microsoft Windows for its computers' operating systems in favor of open source platform Linux. My tech geek friends have informed me that this is a smart move, and not just because they hate Microsoft. It will save France cash (money that would otherwise go to Microsoft's coffers for Windows licensing fees), and Linux is a more stable platform than Windows (which is prone to crashing, as we all know from personal experience). Security is also better, making it perfect for a government concerned about protecting privacy. Are we going to adapt such mov

My name causes national security alert

Interesting project! A grassroots Muslim PR campaign, with thousands of people as walking billboards, wearing shirts with messages that make people laugh and frown. But most importantly they make people think. They destroy the messages we receive on a daily basis from mainstream media outlets and even our own religious leaders. [tags] hijabi, man, islam [/tags]

Sorry my friends

In the last week I have successfully established new friendship with some guys and gals around the world and that was because I tried almost every social network that exists on the net namely myspace , hi5.com and facebook . all of my new friends were eager to know more about me and about my country, yes they are geographically uneducated people so I was thinking about the best photo I can take so I can introduce them to myself and to my city Amman, I have had a hard time finding the proper way to show them the maximum of what I can afford to let them know how good my city is and how good its municipality. I know, We have plenty of gorgeous place in Amman but what I had in mind was different, I wanted to show them where I live, my way to my office and where I enjoy walking with my friends so I jumped onto the street to take photo of where I live! brilliant idea isn't it ? First I jumped onto the way from home to office, that I walk in everyday but found it hard to share such phot

To ban or not to ban Burqa

I’ve heard many stories that Christians in Afghanistan and Pakistan have to wear a badge to distinguish them, and we know that Christian women have to wear a veil if she were to enter a mosque or if she was to walk in the street in some countries like Saudi Arabia and Iran. If the first one about Christians in Pakistan and Afghanistan is right then the law is a bigot. The second one is right with the exception to some cities or compounds where people can enjoy their freedom as for other cities where it’s not allowed to walk without a veil I think it’s their right to do so at least because the society out there are not ready to see any part of the body other than the toes therefore they cannot break this protocol yet. Now it's their turn to put laws and force to respect protocols not to distinguish us but to have us integrated in society, BBC World Have Your say running a poll and taking people comments about banning Burqa in Netherlands where I found many interesting opinions abou

What type of person do you attract?

What type of person do you attract? Your Result: You attract geeks! Your stunning intellect and love of sci-fi and video games allures the geeks like nothing else. Maybe it is the sparkle in your eye that makes them want to text you, who knows. Geeks make good partners, but tend to be arguementative. If you are a TRUE geek magnet, you will know if that was spelled correctly, and actually care. If it is a bad-boy/bad-girl you are seeking, you are barking up the wrong tree, unless they are just 'bad' behind a PS2 console. You attract Yuppies! You attract artsy people! You attract unstable people! You attract models! You attract rednecks! What type of person do you attract? Quizzes for MySpace Ok, Any female geek around? [tags] attract, people, quiz [/tags]

Family International and Schneller School

Last Saturday I had the chance to join FICS in their volunteer day at Theodore Schneller School which was sponsored by the HSBC bank, The idea of drawing smile on kid's faces wasn't clear to me until I saw it and witnesses the effect of it. FICS (Family International Community Services) are the amazing people which I recently had the chance to meet them , they are amazing because they decided to leave their home, families and devoted their time to help people in Middle East, They have been operating in Middle East since 1993 and they volunteered to do many things from Educational programs for children, Food and clothing distribution, Early learning seminar, Free dental and eye tests up to Three days English camp, they are giving the crystal clear example of how to be part of the change. Theodore Schneller School which was founded as a school for orphans over 100 years ago is one of the most equipped school I have ever seen, it would be mean if I said I envy them but I guess t

New video: Sexual Harassment in Cairo

Some people thought it's just one of Cairo's crowded street where people may touch each other unintentionally but this new video taken which was taken by a New Yorker visiting Cairo during al eid prove how mean and lame it was. Two girls walking near Metro Cinema and then people start chasing and abusing them and in seconds all people in the street joined them in their Noble mission and start abusing those girls. Meanwhile police patrols take a peak at this scene and then hide again in their truck. Where we live for god sake? Reconciliation please

BBC - Saddam Hussein has urged Iraqis to seek reconciliation, two days after being sentenced to death by hanging for crimes against humanity. What do you think would happen if Saddam got back his access to presidency? doesn't matter how, I just wonder what would the current Iraqi government personnel do, do you think they will stay in Iraq and keep fighting against him or they will just run away? What they were fighting for in the first place? Were they fighting for Iraq or for their own good ? I'm not Pro-Saddam in any mean at least because he pushed Iraqis to war after war since he become president not to mention his crimes against humanity or actually against people whom he should protect not intimidate. Bush's war in Iraq didn't make the situation any better, Iraqis had one Saddam but now thousands of Saddmies with hundreds of crimes against humanity everyday, One should be happy for Saddam's verdict result but what next? I'm all to sentence Saddam to deat
