As a Jordanian I have strong passion toward Falafel by birth and recently it became a weekly habit to eat Falafel at least once a week and like most Jordanians who owns KIA Sephia I put Al-Qudss' Falafel on the top of the list, Fouaad Falafel downtown comes in the second place as a favorite Falafel place although I do not go there that much, for easy access and almost 24/7 Falafel I do not mind Abu Jbarah restaurant 2nd Circle and the story of over complicating the falafel sandwich started there. Two days ago I went to second circle aiming for 25 Sandwich for the hungry family and because each one have his own customization for falafel I had to write it down, some of them did not want Tahini salad but Arabic Salad, other wanted some red pepper, some wanted some extra pickles; so far things were just fine as we are used to customizing falafel sandwiches, one size fits all does not work with falafel and in fact falafel businessmen are used to to give the consumer the liberty of cu

Life is never ending installation festivals & Confrences

Allow me to repeat myself here, Life is never ending installation festivals & conferences at least when it's about your freedom Ubuntu Jordan LoCo Team will be at the Open Source Day Organized by Jordan University of Science and Technology. This event we will be packed with our new member Advocate Omar Eltaweel who will be giving a 60 minutes presentation about Legalizing your IT infrastructure and Of course Mr Khamis Seksek who will be speaking about Linux as an investment. No speaker slot for the poor me this time but I will be handling the Installation festival, hopefully we will be able to distribute more than 200 CD although the estimate number of visitors goes beyond 5,000, we are still hunting for a sponsor if you think you can sponsor us please leave a comment as we are in big need for more CDs [tags] Ubuntu, Jordan, LoCo Team, Jordan University, Science and Technology, Installation festival, speakers, conference, legalizing IT infrastructure, advocate, investment

Thumbs up: Toshiba Jordan

I'm a believer and I do believe in miracles, my laptop is back to life with the generous help of Toshiba Jordan - SMS Group, they replaced the mother board, the keyboard and planning to change the HDD TOO! I really have no idea how or what happened to my laptop, first two keys weren't responding at all so I thought it's just the keyboard and the day I went to SMS the LCD died, again I have no idea why would that happen, I have strong faith in Toshiba Tecra laptops and having a keyboard issue might be because I use it heavily and maybe my big fat fingers and again maybe. Anyway, Today Toshiba Jordan called me telling me that my laptop is ready now after replacing the keyboard and the mother board and they told me that they're think that my H.D.D is dying too so they ordered a new one from Toshiba Europe and meanwhile I can use my laptop. Toshiba Jordan - SMS Group, You saved my life once again :-) THANK YOU guys and WELCOME BACK SASHA [tags] laptop toshiba, sms group, tosh

Mourning Sasha

Sasha was a good friend of mine, we used to spend the day and night together, Sasha served me well and honestly I wasn't expecting such news from Toshiba Service Center about her condition. And the beast shall be made legion. Its numbers shall be increased a thousand thousand fold. The din of a million keyboards like unto a great storm shall cover the earth, and the followers of Mammon shall tremble. Goodbye Sasha, Goodbye my good Tecra A8, I will always remember you. Losing identity - Flickr goes video

I have been a flickr member since 2004 and a pro member since 2005 with total payments of $99.80 for their pro account, I used to love and respect flickr because they have that solid identity of photographer base, a place where you you can upload your photos and receive comments from good photographers, a place where you can view seriously professional photo streams and enjoy socializing with photographers at the same time. Recently flickr decided to go video so now it's a photo and video sharing website which to me means they lost their identity and my passion to them, honestly flickr now is just like any other Web 2.0 bubble that we are witnessing. I understand that they needed to expand their market and community but does that mean adding video to their service? I wonder why they did not launch a new website and kept flickr identity safe. seems like social networks rise and fall just like nations and I believe flickr is falling now. Ubuntu Jordan LoCo: FLOSS Introduction - Princess Sumaya University of Technology

Amman, April 9th-10th 2008 - Ubuntu Jordan LoCo Team . As part of Ubuntu Jordan LoCo Team continuous efforts to spread awareness about GNU/Linux in the Kingdom, the team organized a public event at Pricess Sumaya University for Technology in Cooperation with The King Hussein School for Information Technology. Mr. Jad Madi & Khamis SekSik gave a two hours lecture Introducing FLOSS in the Jordanian way, as well as a brief background of FLOSS history. In addition, the lecture included Mr.Seksik explaining some reasons to use FLOSS Jordan, as well as comparing selling service VS selling software, and comparing backward compatibility issues between FLOSS and other software. Other issues discussed by like the ethical reasons to use FLOSS. The argument is that using proprietary software without paying for it equal theft and as such is unethical. In many ways, we highlighted title="Ubuntu Jordan LoCo Team- March 2008 event">again , choosing the right software is a very im

Debian Hosting Providers

During my tech-life I had to deal with number of Web Hosting providers and truth to be said I have had extremely pleasant experience with many of them although I don't use any but two of them now. Truth to be said I picked them because they offered Debian based dedicated, VPS or shared, although on shared it doesn't matter if it's Debian or not but I'm so extreme when it comes to GNU/Linux. LayeredTech.com : my first experience with them was when it was my task to hunt for a decent dedicated servers provider and since I was the administrator to be I picked them because they have a good reputation and they provide Debian and Ubuntu! my experience with them were so good, they are fantastic people although I don't remember flagging any of our tickets to them as critical but their support was always fast, it's worth mentioning that our machine with Layered Tech would have been running without the need to reboot for almost two years now but in real life we needed to

Automation

Automation played a good role in my life, I learned to code because I needed to automate some tasks rather than falling in love with it but I fallen in love with it later, nevertheless. Automation is lovely only when you build it but not when you have to use someone's automation tool because basically you will end up in author mental state else it means you didn't understand how it works but do we need to understand how things works? do all of us have to love figuring things out or is it enough to get the task done even without understanding how it works? Brewing coffee is an automated process now, you only have to buy the coffee, put some in your coffee machine wait and then drink it, see? it is an automated process but do we need to automate the remaining processes? but then it would sound like a magic and that is exactly what we call it Automagically which supposedly means combining and/or grouping steps into one automagical step or a group of automagical steps which later w
