It's Linux university dude!

Unfortunately we don't have Linux in our universities in Jordan and this is maybe because of the idiotically old fashion management and could be the generous (why) support of Microsoft labs and as Political science student I had the chance only in one class to use Microsoft labs where they tought us how to install office and how install antiviruses LOL anyway this isn't the story The story is that I love NOVELL and I hate WHO DONT LOVE IT, asking why is that ? Linux University for Developers is a collaborative initiative by developers, designed for developers to share their knowledge on how easy it is to create software on Linux. The content on this open community site is geared towards showing and doing using flash-based, interactive lessons, rather than articles or lengthy documentation. Would you like to request that a specific Linux University tutorial be built on a topic of your choice? Would you like to join a community of developers and contribute your own tutorial? Sub

Terrorists or criminals? Part one - The purse gang

Do you prefer to live in a society full of criminals or terrorists ? I think our government are doing pretty good job in cleaning up terrorists but on the contrary they aren't doing any good in cleaning up the criminals or is it they aren't able to catch up with criminals especially with the flood of new comers? and here I'm talking about two level of criminals, Well known criminals among most of Jordanians even if it was just a rum or but never got clean up and the street rate criminals, the people you don't know who suddenly jump over to steal your money lets talk about the second first. In the last month I have heard a lot of stories about the raising number of street crimes in Jordan and to be honest I didn't believe it first until I became on of the players in the story when couple of thief stole my step sister purse while she's taking her kids back from a birthday party and that incident happened in one of the most live wire street in Amman. From mozilla-Firefox bug database

This privacy flaw has caused my fianc and I to break-up after having dated for 5 years. Basically, we share one computer but under separate Windows XP user accounts. We both use Mozilla Firefox -- well, he used to use it more than I do but now we don't really use it. The privacy flaw is this: when he went to log-in under his dating sites (jdate.com, swinglifestyle.com, adultfriendfinder.com, etc.), Mozilla promptly asks whether or not he'd like Firefox to save the passwords for him. He chose never, obviously. However, when he logged off his user account, and I logged onto my Windows XP account X amount of days later, I decided to use Firefox because hey -- it loaded everything much more efficiently, was better to work on with website designs and is a lot more stable than IE7beta2. Firefox prompted whether or not I'd like it to save my password for logging into my website. I chose never and changed my mind. I went into the Password Manager to change the saved password o

Open, but not as usual

From the Economist print edition EVERY time internet users search on Google, shop at Amazon or trade on eBay, they rely on open-source software?products that are often built by volunteers and cost nothing to use. More than two-thirds of websites are hosted using Apache, an open-source product that trounces commercial rivals. Wikipedia, an online encyclopedia with around 2.6m entries in more than 120 languages, gets more visitors each day than the New York Times's site, yet is created entirely by the public. There is even an open-source initiative to develop drugs to treat diseases in poor countries. read more [tags] economist, opensource [/tags]

Finally I was able to disconnect home ADSL account and now I can feel the difference especially after the first weekend without Internet. Everything goes smooth and you get involved in all family things during the weekend, not to mention you can proceed faster in your readings list Waaaaaaaaaahohoooooo life is cleaner now. Ubuntu is a community designed Linux distribution that is designed to be as user-friendly as possible Ubuntu is quickly becoming the defacto standard in user-friendly distributions. Since it is Debian, apt will allow you to pull from a huge repository of Debian-ready applications and have them installed within minutes. Ubuntu is also easily customizable, allowing you to completely change the look of the Gnome desktop in just a few clicks. Ubuntu has become so wide-spread that variations of the operating system for KDE and Educational uses have emerged (Kubuntu and Edubuntu, respectively) based on the same components. UbuntuLinux.org is the official home of Ubuntu, providing downloads , documentation , support and various community documents and forums . This is the center of all things Ubuntu and should be the first stop for those interested in the operating system.
