Numbers Stations

Numbers stations (or number stations) are shortwave radio stations of uncertain origin. They generally broadcast artificially generated voices reading streams of numbers, words, letters (sometimes using a spelling alphabet), tunes or Morse code. They are in a wide variety of languages and the voices are usually women's, though sometimes men's or children's voices are used. more on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Numbers_station

Honestly, I thought such thing would only exists in something like LOST but it seems to be real.

What's interesting that a British official once said;

2:18s-2:26s- People shouldn't be interested in numbers stations, because people shouldn't be listening to them, because they are illegal to listen to.

Now I wonder if we have numbers stations in Jordan.

NOTE: I promised to blog about CEDAW again, I know, I'm late but I'm seriously busy plus the more I read the more I tend to be pro CEDAW and by the way, I'm active on twitter now

Rules of war (in a nutshell)

https://youtu.be/HwpzzAefx9M Since the beginning, humans have resorted to violence as a way to settle disagreements. Yet through the ages, people from around the world have tried to limit the brutality of war. It was this humanitarian spirit that led to the First Geneva Convention of 1864, and to the birth of modern International Humanitarian Law. Setting the basic limits on how wars can be fought, these universal laws of war protect those not fighting, as well as those no longer able to. To do this, a distinction must always be made between who or what may be attacked, and who or what must be spared and protected.
