The Danish Experience or Not

  • Are you a public figure if you are an online activist?
    - Can you mock a national institute when you are not a citizen?
    - Do you have the right to talk like a local if you lived in a country for couple of years?
    - Maybe I do not disagree with it, maybe it exists but I did not like that such mockery is coming from a foreigner.
    - You lived in Jordan as a Danish at the most critical and hardest times to say I'm a danish.
    - I can't be textually aggressive with you, because the institute you are mocking may give me a call for being aggressive with a white person. See, you are protected by the people you are mocking.
    - it's mocking because of the writing style, it's not based on facts, it's not a research output and most importantly, it's not your business unless it's your business.
    - We appreciate all inputs from none-Jordanians, if that shows anything it shows how they are connected to the country, especially those who lived for 5 and more years in Jordan, but negativity will lash back at you. remember, you are not a citizen.
    - The happenings in the Arab World in Jordan and the beautiful political awakness in Jordan should mean taking things more seriously, even a citizen mocking a person or an institution will be criticised for not being serious enough about his country.
    - Defamation is an issue, defamation of individuals or institution.
    - If you have facts, share them, if you don't but you feel that something is wrong, propose the right change.
    - As someone mingling mostly with expatriates, even if you are a close friend, you cannot mock my country, its public figures or an institution.
    - Foreign interference is acceptable when it's in the context of partnership.
    - and you know, you are not a citizen, you are not welcomed to make fun of any jordanian institution. You can start it as a research and finish it with findings and research limitations.
    - This post reminds me of how the egyptian adel imam mocked Danish freedom by presenting a danish women as a sexual object.
    - I remember your embassy sending mass invite to people to watch some parts of the film and then criticising it.
    It's just the same.

I didn't like your recent post
It even got me thinking about blogging about it and why I don't like it.

    15 minutes agoNadia Norvang Christiansen
    Hey Jad
    ok
    disagreeing is perefctly fine
i def think you should blog or commetn

    15 minutes agoJad Madi
It's not disagreeing, it's not liking that such post would come out of you.

    15 minutes agoNadia Norvang Christiansen
    ah, ok, why not?
    if I may ask?

    14 minutes agoJad Madi
Of course I'm messaging Nadia, my friend
so I hope you wont take it personal or anything
and I'm messaging you because I didn't want you to take my blog-response personal
    The article is a self-mockery

    13 minutes agoNadia Norvang Christiansen
ok, well I will try not to take it personal then

    13 minutes agoJad Madi
You are an academic person, a researcher
I would have expected something better from you
much much much better, at least to take you to the basics of writings.
and you know, you are not a citizen, you are not welcomed to make fun of any jordanian institution
you can research and review them and come up with the most aggressive findings
but then it has to be a research

    12 minutes agoNadia Norvang Christiansen
well, I thought about writing it as a fact post, but I knew that everything regarding this topic can be reversed. So no point in trying to serve "a truth"

    12 minutes agoJad Madi
    not just a mocking article

    12 minutes agoNadia Norvang Christiansen
cuz truth is noone knows the complete truth when it comes to this topic

    11 minutes agoJad Madi
and you know, you lived in Jordan at the most critical times to be danish in the arab world, that's because of them

    11 minutes agoNadia Norvang Christiansen
well, it was sarcasm, as an experiment to open up this topic

    11 minutes agoJad Madi
    These are my thoughts Nadia

    11 minutes agoNadia Norvang Christiansen
and I appreciate you bringing them
    to my attention
    really

    11 minutes agoJad Madi
I do agree with taking off the security institutions off universities

    11 minutes agoNadia Norvang Christiansen
maybe I will write a new post on the topic but from a different perspective

    10 minutes agoJad Madi
but making fun even of the worst jordanian institution is not something I would accept from someone who lived with us
criticise them academically and mention true stories

    10 minutes agoNadia Norvang Christiansen
    ok - I hear you

    10 minutes agoJad Madi
Jordan is not to be a joke

    10 minutes agoNadia Norvang Christiansen
    def not
Im sorry if thats what it felt like - my intention was different
and Jordan is not its security system

    8 minutes agoJad Madi
I'm not sensitive to intentions, I'm too sensual when it comes to my country
again, you have the right to say whatever you want when you research it, observe it or hear a true story
    but mockery isn't fun.

    7 minutes agoNadia Norvang Christiansen
    this was not mockery
and based on a true story

    7 minutes agoJad Madi
    It's not

    7 minutes agoNadia Norvang Christiansen
from a discussion I had with a group of activists
    the facts
    sorry

    7 minutes agoJad Madi
Read it yourself as a third person and you will see that nothing refers to that

    7 minutes agoNadia Norvang Christiansen
    not the job add
but you are right, I could have mentioned what the post was built on

    5 minutes agoJad Madi
Nadia, the way you wrote it doesn't show its a story

    5 minutes agoNadia Norvang Christiansen
    you are right

    5 minutes agoJad Madi
it shows a mockery of the institute and a self mockery of yourself as academic.
imagine signing this post with your name and last degree/research
    this is what I'm saying

    4 minutes agoNadia Norvang Christiansen
the facts in the post I got from a discussion, but I set it up in a sarcastic way - cuz I know there are no definite truths when it comes to this topic
    haha

    4 minutes agoJad Madi
anyway, this conversation encouraged me to blog about it

    4 minutes agoNadia Norvang Christiansen
I will add my background thoughts to the post
    so people arent mislead
you are right, I should have done that

    4 minutes agoJad Madi
Then it's a merely journalistic findings, and you should mention that you didn't have the mean to verify any of these stories

    3 minutes agoNadia Norvang Christiansen
    youre right
    I will add that on
    to make things clear

    2 minutes agoJad Madi
